Kate Middleton has fueled rumors she and Prince William are set to marry — after telling close friends she would now like to be called by her full name: Catherine, rather than the more informal, Kate.

Bookmakers have even stopped taking bets on the likelihood the pair will be walking down aisle — and Kate’s latest move signals that the former fashion accessories buyer is aiming for a more formal public image.

A source said: “Everyone knows it’s about to happen with Kate and William but we were a little surprised about the request to call her Catherine.  “There’s a distinct feeling that she has started to become very aware of her position.”

Middleton, currently on vacation on the romantic tropical island of Mustique with the Prince, today refused to comment on the fevered speculation that the pair are about to get engaged. “I’m terribly sorry but I will not talk about  that. I am truly sorry but please excuse me,” she told the Mail on Sunday newspaper.

Royal experts say Middleton has, through a series of engagements and function, been gradually groomed for a life in the Royal Family.  Source
