Amy Winehouse appears to be on the slow road to recovery as her fourth day in rehab sees the star fighting to battle her drug addiction. According to reports, doctors are pleased with Winehouse’s progress as she is determined to make an effort to straighten herself out.  I really hope this is true - but it appears her recording company suggested strongly she go to rehab after the video of her smoking crack.

The news emerges as Amy’s mother and husband fear she could be dead within months if she fails to conquer her drug addiction. Amy, entered the Capio Nightingale Hospital in north London on Thursday after crisis talks with her management, record company and family.

Amy has since received a visit from close Matt Lucas and his boyrfriend on Sunday as the Little Britain star showed his support. Her decision to seek help follows the publication on Tuesday of a grainy video of the singer smoking crack cocaine while under the influence of Valium in The Sun. Amy checking into rehab marks the second time she has sought treatment for her drug abuse.

In August, Amy and her husband Blake Fielder-Civil, 25, briefly checked into rehab after the singer was hospitalised following an alleged overdose. A close family friend told The Sun: “Although Amy is still taking each day at a time she has done the hardest thing in the world by going into rehab. “She has been ill and is withdrawing but at least she is sticking with it as she detoxes “She will stay in rehab for as long as it takes even if it is three or four weeks. “Nobody is saying it will be easy, but things are looking good at the moment and doctors are encouraged.”

Amy’s worried mother Janis, 53, fears her daughter may not live to see her 25th birthday if her current attempt to get sober fails. Janis tells the News of the World, "I’ve known for a long time that my daughter has problems. But seeing it on screen rammed it home. I realise my daughter could be dead within the year. We’re watching her kill herself, slowly.  Source
